Growing up in Southern California, I graduated from UC San Diego in 2010. A spell of wanderlust drew me to travel the world. I ended up living and working in Asia for two years working as a marketing professional. I returned back to the US in 2014 to work at a startup focused on the peer-to-peer delivery network. While working there, I became curious about User Experience Design. I saw it as a way to improve my marketing skills. Little did I know that I would ultimately find my life’s passion codified in the Product Designer role.

In 2015 I completed a 10-week immersive program with General Assembly in San Francisco. From there I worked as a freelance Product Designer before I end up landing a role at a Startup name Koé. There, I focused on creating the best user experience for a mobile-first communication tool to gather and address employee feedback for their employers.

Shortly after Koé, I started out as a contractor for a digital marketing agency called Viscira who specialized in biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare clients. I worked there for four months before converting into a full-time employee. Over the course of two years, I worked on over thirty-two projects ranging from responsive websites, tablet apps, trade show apps, mobile apps, and VR/AR apps. Through strong teamwork and client communication, I was able to maintain and grow client loyalty by producing high-quality designs in a timely fashion. While working at Viscira I found my passion to improve the user experience in a heavily regulated space.

I hungered for experience as a full-stack product designer and work as an in-house designer with a consumer-facing product so I took up a role with Western Union. I was hired as a senior product designer who is focused on building digital products for an international, money transfer company that has a global reach in +200 countries and supports +40 languages. I design primarily responsive web applications and mobile applications with +72 projects across 8 separate product flows. I work on end-to-end product design from requirements building, market+user research, ideation, sketching, mockup creation, prototyping & usability testing, research analysis, and presenting both research & final designs to weekly product meetings to ship the product on a weekly scrum cycle. The types of product flow I have worked on include location mapping, on-boarding registration, loyalty program, system emails, tracking money status, send money flow, status changes post-confirmation (digital self-service), user dashboard, and notifications.

I continue to improve my skills as a freelance designer developing end-to-end product design. I have worked with a non-profit organization focused on building a social network for politically active users, a startup specializing in building a mobile application to find similar objects based on user-generated images via machine learning, a start-up attempting to improve localization of food searches, and a startup building out a mobile communication tool for politically active organizations.

My areas of specialization are interaction design, interface design, user research, and rapid prototyping with usability testing.

As a designer, I am an expert in employing several techniques to carry out my projects.  I employ user research methodologies to built project requirements, layout initial concepts with hand-drawn sketches or through vector-based software, rapidly prototype designs for usability testing, and actively work with developers + data analysts to get better insights into user behavior changes after new design changes have been implemented in actively functioning products.
